Four nominations were submitted for the four open positions on the MSC board so the four candidates have been acclaimed. Frank Coy, Nigel Kemp, and Mark Sandilands are returning to the board, Jennifer Power-Hawrylak will be joining the board. Congratulations to all four!

MSC AGM Masters Swimming Canada Annual General Meeting

The Masters Swimming Canada Annual General Meeting will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, May 20th, 2007 in the Royal Gallery of the Pan Am Pool in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Details regarding the meeting are available at mymsc.ca/AGM2007

It is important that club representatives that will not be attending the AGM in person submit proxies. Instructions are on the proxy form. Without a sufficient number of members either attending or submitting proxies we will fail to make quorum, requiring an additional meeting at significant and unnecessary additional expense.

Million Metre Challenge Update

The MSC Fitness Committee has come up with an innovative solution to the problem of delivering Million Metre Challenge certificates in a timely and cost effective manner. Keeping up with distributing awards to the more than one hundred clubs participating in the challenge has proven, well, challenging! Almost 1500 swim caps and pins have been distributed so far! Club leaders can now generate PDF format certificates on the mymsc.ca web site, print them out, and present them immediately or at the next club social. To generate a certificate just go to mymsc.ca/MMC/Certificate.jsp and fill in the name and distance and click the submit button. You can then print out the generated certificate using Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can adjust the style and choose an English or a French certificate. The Million Metre Challenge is all about recognizing the accomplishments of swimmers, so please take full advantage of this facility to give your swimmers the recognition they deserve!

So far twenty-six swimmers have passed the one million metre mark:
